As always, you can find the Dobbs v. Jackson decision here.
Paragraph 2 of 5
Sentence 2 of 3
Just one claim in this sentence:
“It betrayed our commitment to ‘equality before the law’.” 163 U. S., at 562 (Harlan, J., dissenting).
Here it is with the subject clarified:
- Plessy v. Ferguson “betrayed our commitment to ‘equality before the law’.”
Plessy definitely violated the principle of equality before the law, but I’m not sure how to go about assessing whether that’s the commitment of the court. This isn’t an easily-determined claim.
I’ll come back to it later. For now it’s undetermined:
- Plessy v. Ferguson “betrayed our commitment to ‘equality before the law’.”
