Dobbs Sentences #194: Part II D 3

As always, you can find the Dobbs v. Jackson decision here.

Paragraph 2 of 3

Sentence 6 of 8

Three claims here:

“But for reasons we discuss later, see infra, at 50–54, 55–56, and given in the opinion of The Chief Justice, post, at 2–5 (opinion concurring in judgment), the viability line makes no sense.”

These claims make more sense taken last to first:

  • “[T]he viability line makes no sense.”
  • “[W]e discuss [reasons] later” explaining why “the viability line makes no sense.”
  • “[T]he opinion of The Chief Justice [gives reasons why] the viability line makes no sense.”

This seems to be in support of a claim different from the dissent-doesn’t-care-about-fetal-life claim. The second and third claims point to upcoming support for the first claim, so we’ll just have to see what we find in those references before truth value can be determined.

These are undetermined:

  • “[T]he viability line makes no sense.”
  • “[W]e discuss [reasons] later” explaining why “the viability line makes no sense.”
  • “[T]he opinion of The Chief Justice [gives reasons why] the viability line makes no sense.”
